Creating the Alien Xenomorph

From our storyboard there is a shot of the Alien Xenomorph's upper teeth, showing too much of the Alien would become too time consuming and distract from the realistic element. By focusing on the hissing and snarling teeth less of the creature is shown and therefore leaves the rest to the audience's imaginations. I have looked into the different ways of building the Aliens teeth and the front of it's head, it was suggested that we buy a figure of the Alien but a realistic looking figure would be too expensive for the part we needed to show.

I have built the upper teeth by moulding plasticine over a plastic cast similar to the picture below, followed by painting the teeth to create the silver matalic texture. The head is made with plastic and may need some further moulding or additional plasticine to create a smooth texture, as I have layered the base with cardboard for now.
Story boards and titles
We propose to create some elements from the original film by using self built props and green screen effects, our project is mixed with motion graphics and live footage to blend together the realistic feel that the film has, while also including the sci-fi futuristic element within it.

Alien introduction

For our motion graphics project we have chosen to re-create the title sequence from Alien, incorporating animation effects with live action footage. Alien is a sci-fi horror film directed by Ridley Scott with the screen play written by Dan O' Bannon, David Giler (uncredited), and Walter Hill (uncredited). The original idea for Alien was thought up by Dan O' Bannon and Ronald Shusett, using inspiration and artwork from Chris Foss, H. R. Giger, and Jean "Moebius" Giraud, to create the terrifying yet beautiful visuals, these visuals within the creature/set design have followed the film right into it's sequels.
